Stop Worrying Your Existence Away!
To worry is a natural human response if something in the environment goes amiss. If normal daily routines are disrupted and the disruptions are potentially dangerous, a person tends to worry.
Sudden shift in behavioral patterns with the people around you can make you worry for them. Worry can also be associated to anxiety. Basically, to worry is to engage the brain in a negative, distracting, and possible self- destructing self- conversation. This means you keep telling yourself possible negative outcomes. And the tendency is, those outcomes manifest themselves as you already defeated yourself. To stop worrying is what you need.
As you can see, worrying is bad for you. It distracts your mind from focusing on the things you should do if there are any problems to be solved. However, worrying comes to a person naturally. It is not a feeling you can block out entirely. What you can do then is to recognize that you are worrying. Then you must take steps to gain control of that, overcome it and stop worrying. This does not mean you become apathetic. Instead, you focus your energy in a constructive way that would help you solve the problem that is worrying you in the first place.
To help you stop worrying, you need to employ physical and emotional stress- relief techniques. You will want to take a look at the things worrying you. It would help if you list down somewhere your worries. Then take a look at that list and mull things over. See what worries have very little chance of happening. See what worries are just distorted thinking. And see worries that you think you can have some measure of control with. Also, it would help you to list beside those worries of yours, some alternative action. You then take these actions as challenges and do them with vigor. The key here is to focus on the right things!
You would need to relax in order to stop worrying. You can drink a glass of water, for starters. You can listen to music that has soothing effects. You can take a long and relaxing bath. If you cannot do it on your own; try going to a place where you can find relaxation. A spa is a good place. Try to make yourself better by treating yourself a little. If the cause of your worry needs immediate action, throw yourself into the action and not in the worrying. You can call in help from the people around you.
You do not always have to be alone in facing your worries. You can stop worrying more easily if you have support from other parties. Call in your friends or family. You will have heaps of advice. They will support you and help you solve your problems. If you cannot get help from that quarter and from yourself, consider asking for professional help. There are many counselors out there who can help you assuage your worry. They can tell you ways to keep your perspective.
