Los Angeles - The City of Angels
With its countless movies and books written about the LA experience, nothing compares as to going down there and be a part of those dreams and adventure that only Los Angeles can give.
Yes, most of us dream of having the spotlight on us, be a star or a rock star. Heading out to Los Angeles might be the option that most are going to take. But there are a lot of events and places that you can visit and explore in this dramatic city of broken dreams. For one, indulge the child in you and visit Disneyland!
Everybody is a kid at heart, and seeing your favorite characters from your childhood will give you a natural high. Whether seeing Mickey Mouse or Belle, from Beauty and the Beast, I had to hug them and take a photo with them, to ensure my place in the stories of my future generation.
Of course, there are the stars. But it is not likely that you will spot them in their most gods and goddesses-like appearances. After all, they too are half-mortals. But seeing their domain might just give your star-truck imagination come to life.
Joining the star-tours is a common event in everyday LA. But still for visitors like us, we crane our necks to see a piece of our favorite stars in their homes. Too bad that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are always out of the country doing their goodwill deed to mankind.
And because the urge to experience the reel-life events that we so numerously played in our minds, the Universal Studios is more than welcome to have your visit. Although it’s a really big studio and theme park and you expect a lot of stars to pop out of nowhere, I didn’t get to see a lot of stars popping out of nowhere to greet you. But I sure did have a marvelous time with the tours, letting the scenes of my favorite movies and television series come to life!
Also, so that you can have your fix of the stars, walking down the walk of fame is a treat. To see the hand and shoe imprints of your favorite stars make them seem normal after all.
Its their imprints and their marks in the world, and having to touch them and fit your hands on them is like a surreal dream. It is not like having to shake hands with them and seeing them personally, but it’s close to that!
Having particularly done these stuff for a wide-eyed wanderer, star-struck person like me, it is more than enough to fill my memory book to last me for a life-time. At least I can say to myself, that though it is common for the people of LA that a lot of tourists wants to see their city for hundred of other reasons, the belief in knowing that you have come closer to the stars than most, will always be a surreal and wonderful experience. An explosive treat for the imagination.
After all, the City of Angels will truly give magic to those who believe.
